The Detroit Pistons and their longest tenured player, Reggie Jackson agreed to a buyout today, according to multiple reports. Jackson plans to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, where a very close friend of his, Paul George now plays. The Pistons have now cleared a roster spot, making room for them to fully guarantee the contract of Louis King, Jordan Bone, or Donta Hall.
Reggie Jackson held the title of longest-tenured Piston since they had traded Drummond. That title now goes to third-year player, Luke Kennard. This move makes a tank even clearer than before, as this team will have Derrick Rose and Brandon Knight at point guard. The Pistons now have 5 players that have more than 5 years of experience in the NBA. The already low chances at the Playoffs are now <1%. Now that the Pistons are rebuilding, keep an eye out for draft profiles on prospects Detroit may take in the 2020 NBA Draft.
