Game 54 Preview Pistons Vs. Knicks

Our Pistons are back in Detroit tonight at 7:00 P.M. facing off against the New York Knicks. Detroit is coming off a loss last night in Oklahoma City where they put up a good fight for only having nine active players. This is the Pistons second game since the trade deadline and they may be looking even more different with John Henson and Brandon Knight being active tonight if their physicals get done in time.

Knight was selected 8th overall by the Pistons in the 2011 NBA draft out of Kentucky. He played two seasons for Detroit before being involved in a trade to Milwaukee for Point Guard Brandon Jennings. There’s a chance that he makes his Pistons return tonight since last playing in 2013. If so, this will be a greatly anticipated comeback game for him.

Derrick Rose, Markieff Morris, and Svi Mykhailiuk all weren’t active last night, so there’s still question whether they’ll be able to go tonight. With out those players Detroit will be looking at Reggie Jackson and now starting center Christian Wood to be the leaders again. Wood easily had his best game in a Pistons uniform last night with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists. If the Pistons are shorthanded again tonight look for them to lean towards the breakout center again.

Both organizations in this match-up decided to be sellers at the deadline and continue their rebuilding paths. Therefore, what I’m expecting to see in this game is for a lot of young talent to get their opportunities to show something. For the Pistons I’m looking at Sekou Doumbouya to get off the schneid tonight and become a go to scorer for the Pistons in this game. Enjoy watching the battle of the rebuilding!
