Pistons prevail on Reggie Jackson’s return

via ESPN

On the night that Reggie Jackson returned, the Pistons were able to pull off a dominating 127-106 win over the Kings.

In his first game back, Reggie came off the bench and scored 22 points in 19 minutes on 8-14 shooting. He had 12 points at halftime and 17 after three quarters of play, including a buzzer beating three after the third quarter. Reggie looked extremely healthy in the game, which comes as relief to Pistons fans. He displayed good ball handling and passing which was good to see.

Christian Wood also added 23 points in 25 minutes off the bench. As usual, Derrick Rose led the starting unit with 22 points. Overall, it was a very good offensive and defensive effort for the Pistons. It was definitely needed.

For the Kings, De’Aaron Fox scored 22 points and Bogdan Bogdanovic added 19 points off the bench. Unhappy Dewayne Dedmon started the game, after sitting on the bench most of the season. He totaled 13 points and 9 rebounds in 31 minutes.

As the Pistons get more and more healthier, it just makes you wonder what will happen with the trade deadline approaching. This Pistons team could be really fun and turn it around for the second half of the season. We’ll just have to wait and see how things play out.

This Pistons next game is Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies at Little Caesars Arena Detroit.

Notes

The Pistons were granted a 9.2M player exception for injured Blake Griffin. That is unlikely to be used, unless a trade frees up a roster spot or cap space.

Luke Kennard will likely return from injury after the all star break. He is currently out with double knee tendinitis.
