Game Preview: Pistons vs Hornets

Tonight the Detroit Pistons(4-8) take on the Charlotte Hornets(4-7) for the first time this regular season. This is a very winnable game for the Pistons, and I’d say it’s a must win. It’s only twelve games in, and most fans are already losing hope on this team.

Key Notes/Injury Report

  • Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose are both active for this game. Although they will likely still be on a minute restriction around 24-28 minutes.
  • Tony Snell is listed as probable, with Reggie Jackson and Khyri Thomas both listed as out. Jordan Bone and Sekou Doumbouya are both currently with the Grand Rapids Drive.
  • Charlotte lost Kemba Walker, Jeremy Lamb, and Frank Kaminsky in free agency.
  • The Hornets gained Terry Rozier in the off-season. In his first year as a full-time point guard, he is averaging career highs in both three point percentage(38.2%) and field goal percentage(41.7%). Rozier is a small, quick guard, who you can’t let heat up.

Extras

The Pistons have had two days off, while the Hornets had just one. Hopefully that time gave the team time to rest and figure out their defensive issues. The Charlotte Hornets are averaging 110 points per game, so hopefully the Pistons can hold them under 100. After today, the Pistons don’t play again until next Wednesday.
